Vitriol Black Dagger - Kyle Rasmussen Signature

Regular price £5.75

Introducing a deadly new 1.5mm signature model forged from our Black Series Ultem/Glass composite...

Dimensions 26 x 33mm

"Tom was able to craft a pick that checks all of my desired boxes as a player. The material paired with the etched logos provides a very sturdy grip, even in a sweaty hand. The brightness of the material and the "sharp" style tip offers maximal pick attack and note clarity. The fully beveled end allows the sharp tip to glide across the strings so one does not have to choose between speed and bite. And lastly, a sharp tip only helps so long as it lasts - This pick is carved from an extremely durable Ultem and glass composite ensuring a long and healthy life. With this combination of grip, brightness / clarity, flow, and durability, I'm happy to consider this my ultimate pick!"

I found these after having bought several of the Andy Gillion picks. Love that dude's playing. I wasn't familiar with Vitriol or Kyle at all, but I like the Loomis pick as a practice pick...the hard sharp tipped picks require me to maintain a level of relaxation that I fall out of if left to my own devices. I managed to play one Loomis pick for about 6 months...beveled, but still pretty sharp. This little Black Dagger is quite similar but a step above...it's a weapon in the wrong (or right) hands. Having battered it against Creeping Death for about an hour a day for a week...I still don't have it quite to tempo...it's just shrugged off wear like water off a duck's back. I'll be back for more...a Scorpio, this is by all accounts my perfect pick.

Q: How good can 'boutique' picks really be? A: Very

For years and years I've sworn by the 1.5mm Ernie Ball Prodigy picks, thinking that I'd found MY pick and would never need anything else. Until I discovered these picks...

Bought one up on a whim, more as an experiment and wanting to try something not Dunlop/Ernie Ball , not really expecting anything noticeably different, but I can say after a week of using it, it's a better pick in every way. Absolutely no signs of wear after a week of very aggressive playing. Love the sharp tip and the bevelled edge just glides through strings. The etched logo feels great in the fingers and gives much better grip than a Jazz 3 Max Grip.

If I HAD to offer a criticism (more an observation really) the long, sharp tip means grabbing pinch harmonics require marginally more effort, especially if you're used to playing smaller picks like a Jazz with a more rounded tip. Maybe a deal breaker if you're Zakk Wylde, but the amount of clarity you get from these is far higher than anything I've played before.

Yes, they are pricey, but worth it. It's like finally investing in a good paintbrush and realising you've been using poor tools this whole time.

I'll definitely be picking up another when I inevitably lose this one, because I think that'll happen before it wears out.

P.S. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but excellent packaging!

Winspear picks are just the best for metal, and they last a length of time, grinding against thick gauged strings.
Pricey, yes. But they will stand the test of time if you don’t loose them. Also don’t fidget and bend them haha they are very stiff and will snap.
Aside from that, totally fantastic picks.

I have used the same two Winspear Battleaxes for a few years now. These Pectrums are incredible. The most durable and most comfortable guitar picks I have ever used. They attack the strings in the most perfect way. And they do not break down after years of use. Highest quality made. Winspear makes amazing products. They have gained a lifelong customer for sure.
