Jet black plectrums crafted from an Ultem/Glass composite - an incredibly durable material. The full polished finish and composition of the material result in a brighter attack and a harder, more precise strike.

The thickness of these picks encourages a more relaxed grip whilst delivering a weightier attack with less effort. Due to the tapered ergonomic design, they feel significantly smaller and less cumbersome than the thickness measurement may imply. With smooth bevelled edges and a precise sharp tip, Winspear Picks give a precise playing experience and glide over the strings effortlessly.

Best bright pick

I have been using the Black series for a few weeks, and had used the Gold series relatively frequently for years before.

The Gold/Black series is, in my opinion, the best bright pick on the market. The timbre can be described as precise, well-defined and clear. To me, it is an excellent contrast to the Icegrip series, which is a bit more warm and bass-heavy. This is the one I use for staccato work and aggressive high-gain stuff.

Its texture is smooth. Upon first touch, the pick feels almost slippery or oily, I am guessing that's the glass you're feeling. However, for some reason, this pick has extremely good grip. It almost feels like the heat of your fingers makes the pick stick to your hands. Of all the picks in my collection, this one probably feels like it has the least chance of ever accidentally slipping.

The shape of the Black/Gold is more angular and pointy than other Winspear picks. Its tip feels the most sharp.

An absolute must get for the guitarist that wants a pick that can really make notes cut through a mix. It is a precision tool, for sure. Cannot recommend this pick enough, though I would highly recommend complimenting it with an Icegrip pick.

The best picks I own

I have use this pick (and its predecessor, the sandstorm) since 2016. They're so durable I still have and use that same pick from 2016. The texture allows for stable grip and adds an attack not present in normal stuff like dunlop.

Good tip

The best tip I've ever had on a pick. Seems like it will last much longer than anything else I've tried.

Bright sounding pick.

I have this pick for about a week and it's still relative sharp (much more than dunlop after this time for example). Tone is definitely bright.

I likes this picks (Shiv 4) and i definitely can recommended them.

Gold Series Shiv 4

Ordered some picks through Peerless Music Australia. I will probably never search for a different brand again. The feel and play ability of these picks are unlike anything I have ever used. Smooth release and incredible attack. The ergonomic taper feels perfect. Will recommend these picks to anyone that I know.
